Parents and Grandparents sponsorship program is enabled by the Government of Canada to reunification with your family members. Every year, the Government of Canada will welcome 10,000 applicants. The parents and grandparents (PGP) sponsorship program are for Canadian citizens and permanent residents who wants to sponsor their parents and grandparents to Canada for permanent residency.

Eligibility Criteria:

IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) has decided some criteria to bring your parents or grandparents to stay with you in Canada. If a Canadian citizen or permanent resident wants to bring their parents or grandparents to Canada permanently, then; they have to follow the procedure and eligibility criteria to process their application further:

The sponsor should be 18 years old.
They should hold Canadian citizenship or permanent residence.
They should submit evidence of financial ability to take care of their parents or grandparents.
The sponsor should be eligible to sponsor their parents or grandparents.
They should submit the medical documents of their parents or grandparents.
They should submit the police clearance certificate of their parents or grandparents.
They should sign an undertaking agreement promising to provide basic requirements for the person being sponsored.
They should also prove that the sponsor has sufficient funds to render basic requirements of their family in Canada and for the people included in their sponsorship.

Interest to Sponsor

If Potential sponsor are eligible for sponsoring a parent or grandparent, they can submit their interest to the sponsor through IRCC. IRCC (Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada) need to be submitting the application and their reason of interest if everything goes well, they will send an invitation to start the process. Once they receive the invitation, the invited candidates must submit the completed application before the deadline mentioned for them. Then, the IRCC will investigate the application and will make a decision.

Results

IRCC will send the email randomly to potential sponsors and invite them to apply the sponsorship. Each and every potential sponsors who submitted an interest to sponsor form, then they got a confirmation number. Check the email account you used on the submission form. You can also check the lottery results on IRCC website.

Lottery

Complete the process of submission, IRCC will review the submissions and remove the duplicate entries. They will select randomly any application form and send the invitation to potential sponsor. If you have not received any invitation from IRCC, you may consider Visitor Visa or Super Visa for Parents and Grandparents.

Apply for PR

Once you are selected as a potential sponsor, you can apply for permanent residence for your parents and grandparents. Be careful, you can submit the application form before the deadline mentioned in your invitation.
